한국에는 25만 명의 시각 장애인들이 있지만, 시각 장애인이 이용할 수 있는 편의 시설이 제대로 갖춰져 있지 않아 불편하다. 그나마 있는 시설 중에 점자도서관은 서울에 5곳 밖에 없으며, 게다가 점자를 아는 시각장애인의 비율도 매우 낮다. 이 서점은 책을 소리로 미리 듣고 구입할 수 있는 공간이다. 따라서 점자를 모르는 시각장애인들도 청각도서를 들으며 체험할 수 있다. 동선이 하나로 이어지게 만들어, 이용자들의 동선의 꼬임을 예방하였다. 시각장애인들은 온몸의 감각을 이용해 물과 천, 잔디의 촉감을 느끼며 공간을 안내받는다. |

There are 250,000 visually impaired people in Korea, but it is inconvenient because the facilities for them are not equipped properly. This bookstore is a space where they can listen to books before purchasing a book. Therefore, visually impaired people who do not know braille can also enjoy listening to auditory books. The movement line is designed to be connected into one, preventing the user’s movements from getting complicated. People with visual impairment use the senses of the whole body to feel the tactility of water, cloth, and grass, and they are guided about the space. |
