2011.년 6월 In-Star의 USB Device Market Forecast에 따르면 USB시장은 점진적으로 증가하는 추세에 있으며 2011년 기준으로 약 300억개의 USB가 유통되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 하지만 이렇게 유통되고 있는 다양한 종류의 USB를 쓰다 보면 어떤 면을 위로가게 꼽아야 할지 헷갈리는 경우가 많다. 물론 몸체에USB로고가 있는 기기 들도 있어 윗면을 표시하고 있긴 하지만 대부분의 사람들은 잘 알아차리지 못한다. 그래서 위치를 제대로 하지 않아 내부 파일을 볼 수 없어 다시 꼽거나 하는 사소하지만 귀찮은 일이 벌어지곤 한다. 그래서 USB 접속 단자 윗면에 어디가 위인지 표시한 “UP”은, 접촉 케이블(커넥터 부분)을 위한 도금 자체가 기호이기에 사용하기 위해 보는 순간 어느 면을 위로 해야 할 지 알 수 있게 한다. 또한 어떤 형태의 USB든 적용해 사용할 수 있어 따로 로고를 넣을 필요가 없다. 또한 각 나라의 언어나 이미지를 넣어 표시해 사용할 수 있다. 이렇게 위에서 알 수 있듯이 USB가 사용되는 모든 나라에서 사용이 가능하고 또한 어떠한 형태의 USB에도 적용할 수 있기 때문에, "UP"은 전세계적으로 높은 잠재 고객층을 가진다. |

When you use a USB to plug a USB port on laptop computer, there are many times when you are confused which side to be plugged upward. Of course, as there are devices that have USB logos on the body, it indicates upper side, but most people can’t notice it. So as the location is not properly set up and internal files can’t be seen, you have to plug it again and do other trivial and troublesome jobs. To solve this problem, a design was considered that removes all unneeded elements and can be applied to USB’s of all shapes without great cost. Ultimately, the 4 pins on the connector were focused on. And I developed ‘UP’ If you see ‘UP’ which marks to show where the upper side is on the upper surface of USB access terminal, you can notice which side should be upward at the moment when you watch it for use as the coating for the contact cable(connector part) itself is a sign. And you can use it by putting languages or images from each country. |
