천년을 이어온 빛의 예술인 나전(螺鈿)을 현대적으로 재해석한 자개벽시계이다. 우주의 질서와 시간의 흐름을 원으로 표현하였으며, 메인칼라는 오방색인 적(赤)과 흑(黑)을 사용하였다. 적(赤)은 오행 가운데 화(火)에 해당하며 생성과 창조, 정열과 애정, 적극성을 뜻하며, 흑(黑)은 오행 가운데 수(水)에 해당하며 인간의 지혜를 의미하는 색이다. 보는 각도에 따라 오색영롱한 색채를 뿜어내는 자개와 과거, 현재, 미래로 이어지는 시계는 천년이 지나도 그 빛깔과 빛을 잃지 않는 자개와의 조합으로 전통공예의 맥을 발전 시킨 코라덕트(Koraduct : Korean-Art-Product)이다. |

This is a mother-of-pearl wall clock that an article of mother-of-pearl work, an art of light, handed down for a millennium is reinterpreted in modern style. It expresses the order of cosmos and current of time as circle, and it uses red and black, one of five direction colors, as main colors. The red corresponds to Fire, one of five elements like metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. And, the red stands for generation and creation, enthusiasm and affection, and positiveness. Also, the black corresponds to Water among five elements, and it stands for human’s wisdom. It is consisted of mother-of-pearls that take on shining brilliantly in various colors from various angles and a clock that is connected to past, present, and future. This is traditional crafts, (Koraduct : Korean-Art-Product), that holds Korean-like tradition in combination with mother-of-pearls that does not fade away even if a millennium passes. |
