최근 우리나라는 성인들이 아이처럼 유치하고 귀여운 취향을 선호하는 경향인 키덜트(Kid+Adult)가 대중문화의 트렌드로 자리 잡고 있다. 이러한 트렌드를 지켜야 할 문화유산인 탈에 접목시켜, 자칫 고리타분하다고 여겨질 수 있는 전통 탈들이 현대인들에게 친근하고 재미있게 다가갈 수 있도록 의도 했다. 전통 탈의 유래는 불운이나 탈을 막기 위한 주술의 하나로 출발 되었는데, 이를 착안해 탄생한 무탈 도사들은 불안 · 걱정 · 스트레스로 지친 현대인들에게 더 이상 나쁜 일이 생기지 않을 것이라는 믿음을 준다. 6명의 무탈도사들은 재물 · 건강 · 취업 · 연애 등 각기 다른 여섯가지의 상황에서 탈(불운)이 없도록 기원 해준다. |

In Korea, Kidult(Kid + Adult), which is a tendency for adults to adopt childlike and cute taste like a child, is becoming a trend of popular culture. By incorporating these trends into the cultural heritage, the traditional mask, which can be considered as stuffy, can be accessible and interesting to modern people. The origins of the traditional masks began as one of the magic tricks to prevent bad luck. So, The mask characters named Mootal give the belief that modern people who are tired of anxiety and stress will not have any more bad things. The six Mootals pray that there will be no misfortune in six different situations. |
