포스터의 기능 중 하나는 시대의 기록을 상징화하는 일이다. 그 상징은 많은 이들의 바램이나 기원을 담은 유토피아적 이미지로 나타나기도 한다. 포스터 ‘세월’은 우리 사회의 커다란 트라우마로 자리 잡은 ‘세월호’ 침몰 사고를 배경으로 제작되었다. 먼저 그리움으로 기록될 아이들의 빈 자리를 상징화한 ‘기다릴게’와 자식 잃은 부모들의 기다림으로 상징되는 ‘어찌 부모가 제 자식을 포기하겠는가’ 아이들을 다시 부모의 품으로 돌려보내주는 기원적 바램을 담은 ‘품’으로 이 시대의 상실감을 함께 극복해 보기 위해 제작되었다. |
