| 돌발성 난청, 메니에르 병 등을 비롯한 현대인들의 만성 귀 질환은 완치가 아닌 평생 관리를 해야 하는 질병이다. 또한 겉으로 증상이 드러나지 않기 때문에 주변인들의 이해도 부족하며 우울증, 불안 장애와 같은 정신질환을 야기하기도 한다. 때문에 고통에 진심으로 공감할 수 있는 같은 환자들의 연대 네트워크가 치료에 큰 역할을 할 수 있으며 이를 통해 환자들의 신체 및 정신 건강을 증진하고 사회적 인식을 개선하는 데 이 서비스의 목적이 있다. 이우 네트워크는 귀 질환을 앓는 환자들과 그 가족들, 이와 관련된 의료진 등 전문지식인들로 구성되어 의료 자조(self-help) 네트워크의 기틀을 확립하는 계기가 될 것이다. | |||
| DESCRIPTION | |||
| Several ear-related diseases such as sudden hearing loss or the Meniere's disease are not curable. They can only be contained throughout life via rigorous changes. Also, their symptoms are not visible, therefore hard to understand. They are strongly correlated with depression or anxiety disorder. For these reasons, it is important to establish a network of patients, who can truly understand each other. 'EAU Network' was designed to relieve the physical and psychological pain of patients and to enhance social awareness regarding their conditions. It is also expected to introduce the medical self-help system to Korea for further application. | |||
